TEHRAN (IQNA) – In the system of relations among beings in the world, we have been ordered to attribute sins and bad deeds to ourselves and attribute every good thing and good deed to God.

Right and wrong

God says in Verse 79 of Surah An-Nisa, “Whatever good reaches you, it is from Allah, and whatever evil reaches you, it is from yourself. We have sent you (Prophet Muhammad) as a Messenger to humanity. Allah is sufficient for a Witness.”

In the system of creation, there is only one doer and only one will rules the world. Anything other than that is an illusion and fantasy.

But when we move from the overall system of creation to this world, we should realize that everyone is responsible for each and every action that he does.

The existence of laws and belief in good and evil and in social and moral principles signifies the fact that everyone is responsible for his deeds.

So when we read in the verses of the Quran that everything is in the hands of God, for example in Verse 78 of Surah An-Nisa: “Tell them, ‘Everything is from God,’”), it refers to the overall system.

But when it comes to the relations among beings, we have been ordered to attribute sins and bad deeds to ourselves and attribute every good thing and good deed to God, and this is the truth.

The reason for this is that goodness and virtue originate from being and existence, and therefore can be attributed to the Absolute Good (namely God) but bad and evil are of the type of non-existence and thus are attributed to beings’ shortages.
