IQNA – The Grand Mufti of Tajikistan underscored the necessity for unity in the Muslim world in order to save Palestine from oppression and occupation.

Grand Mufti of Tajikistan Saidmukarram Abdulkadirzoda

In an interview with IQNA, Saidmukarram Abdulkadirzoda said that more than any time, Palestine needs Muslim world’s unity today.

Asked about the dire situation in Palestine, especially in the Gaza Strip, and a lack of proper response from the Muslim world, he said the fundamental reason is the weakness of the Muslim world resulting from discord and disunity.

As Iran’s president reasonably said in a recent international conference in Tehran, if the Islamic Ummah decides to set aside the differences and support one another, there would be no oppression and injustice against Muslims anywhere in the world, the cleric stated.

In that case, Muslims will have great power, but today, unfortunately, there are political differences and some disputes among Muslims, he deplored.

Abdulkadirzoda said evil forces exploit these differences and inflict grave sufferings on Muslims.

He hoped Muslims will reverse the trend and move toward cohesion and unity and supporting one another.

He stressed that the differences are just in a fraction of beliefs whereas all Muslims share belief in the overwhelming majority of issues and have faith in the Quran and the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and pray toward one Qibla.

The Grand Mufti of Tajikistan said Muslim scholars, who are servants of Islam, as well as politicians and scholars in other fields should work to lead Muslims to the path of unity.

He also highlighted the ideas of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran Imam Khomeini (RA) and other Muslim figures who have invited Muslim to strengthen their unity and said this is a teaching based on the Holy Quran.

According to Verse 92 of Surah Al-Anbiya, “Indeed, this nation of yours is one nation, and I am Your Lord, therefore worship Me,” Muslims are one Ummah and should unite even if they have some differences, he concluded.
