IQNA – A Quran recitation competition began on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Imamzadeh Saleh in Shemiran district, north of Tehran.

Head of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Mehdi Khamoushi also attended the opening ceremony.

The contest runs for four days and contestants are required to imitate the style of prominent qaris.

The competition features two categories of 17-22 and 12-16 age groups with 32 and 51 contestants making to this stage in each category respectively.

The first stage of the event was held virtually.

Imamzadeh Saleh is the holy shrine of Hazrat Saleh (AS), a son of Imam Musa Kazem (AS).
