Iranian Teenager’s Quran Recitation Imitating Abdul Basit’s Style Thrills Audience

IQNA – A 17-year-old boy thrilled the audience with his beautiful recitation during a Quran competition in Tehran.

The main stage of the contest that features imitating the recitation styles of prominent qaris began on March 5.

On Friday, Abolfazl Faraji recited in the semifinal round, imitating the style of renowned Egyptian qair late Abdul Basit Abdul Samad.

His beautiful recitation drew praise from the audience, scoring the full points.

The competition is held at the Imamzadeh Saleh (AS) holy shrine in north of Tehran.

There are two age categories of 17-22 and 12-16 years, with 32 and 51 contestants making to this stage in each category respectively.
