The Ministry's spokesperson, Sufyan Qudah, expressed grave concerns over these actions, describing them as violations of the legal and historical status of al-Quds and its holy sites, as well as a breach of international law, WAFA News Agency reported.

Qudah emphasized that the al-Aqsa Mosque is a site dedicated exclusively to Muslim worship, and Israel holds no sovereignty over this or any other Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied East al-Quds.

He urged the regime to halt all actions against the mosque and maintain its sanctity.

The statement also highlighted that al-Quds and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs Department retains sole authority over the management of the mosque's affairs and the regulation of entry.

Al-Aqsa Mosque, which includes the Dome of the Rock and the al-Qibli Mosque, spans 14 hectares and is a site where non-Muslims are not permitted to conduct unsolicited visits or religious activities, as per longstanding international agreements.

The Ministry's statement comes in the wake of a noted increase in illegal visits by Israeli ultranationalists at the mosque without Palestinian consent, with numbers reportedly rising from over 5,000 in 2009 to an estimated 30,000 in 2019.
