Maqbareh Mosque of Tabriz in Northwest Iran

IQNA – The Maqbareh Mosque is among the major places of worship in the historical mosque of Tabriz, a city in northwest Iran.

It played an important role in revolutionary activities in Tabriz during the Iranian nation’s struggle that led to the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Ayatollah Seyed Mohammad Ali Qazi Tabatabaei, its prayer leader who was martyred at the Mehrab of the Maqbareh Mosque in late 1979, is buried there.
