The Yemeni reciter is from the city of Sana’a, the capital of Yemen. His recitations in Tarteel, which were previously less known to Arabs and Muslims, are now available on social media.
The recitations have led to the fame and popularity of al-Faqih on social media, particularly on YouTube, where his recorded recitations of the Quran have garnered a dedicated audience worldwide.
Al-Faqih, who is now in his thirties, developed his talent and divine gift for Quran recitation from a young age by imitating renowned Yemeni reciters.
His Quran recitations are in the Sana’a style (a style characterized by its somber and soul-stirring quality, typical of Yemeni reciters).
Despite the challenges of this style, which requires significant energy and a musical atmosphere, he has a deep passion and attachment to it.
This Quran reciter grew up in a farming family in the Arhab region, north of Sana’a, and due to his shyness, he preferred not to be the center of attention.
He serves as the imam at the Bilal ibn Rabah Mosque in the residential area of Habrah in Sana’a. Serving as a prayer leader marked the beginning of his activities in the local community.
In recent years, a close associate of the Yemeni reciter shared audio recordings of his recitations on social media, which are humble, calm, and sorrowful. This has led to the spread of his recitations in the Sana’a style.

With the release of this Yemeni reciter’s recordings on social media, one of his audio clips on TikTok has garnered over 18 million views, prompting Yemeni citizens to request that he record the entire Quran in his unique style and voice.
One of al-Faqih’s fans initiated a fundraising campaign on Facebook in late 2023 to cover the costs of recording his recitations, which were financially burdensome for him, in order to facilitate the release of his audio recordings.
In response to the interest from Yemeni citizens, this Yemeni reciter has begun publishing audio recitations of various chapters from the Quran on a YouTube page named Al-Faqih. Following is one of his recitations from Surah Qaaf of the Holy Quran:
