Cleric Hails Muslims’ Support Amid Israeli-Imposed War, Urges Arbaeen Unity

Hojat‑ol‑Islam Seyyed Abdul‑Fattah Navab, the Supreme Leader’s representative for Hajj and pilgrimage affairs in Iran, made the statements in an interview with IQNA.

The Israeli regime’s June 13 strikes targeted Iranian officials and scientists, also killing hundreds of civilians. Iran retaliated with coordinated strikes on Israeli targets and the US base at Al‑Udeid in Qatar, prompting a halt in hostilities by June 24.

Navab said the twelve‑day conflict created an exceptional Hajj pilgrimage. He noted that “the Islamic Republic has deep admirers across the Muslim world whose support and prayers were intense… they sought Iran’s victory and the downfall of the child‑killing regime.”

The pilgrimage official affirmed that unlike past seasons, this year’s Hajj carried a unique tone, deeply shaped by recent aggression against Iran.

The aggression delayed and complicated the Iranian Hajj pilgrims’ return to the country as the airspace was closed. The pilgrims were transferred to Iraq and then to Iran via land routes.

Navab reported that Muslims worldwide—including in Arab countries—expressed profound empathy for Iran’s stand against Israel. He added that individuals celebrated Iran’s military response, viewing it as Iran striking on behalf of the Islamic world.

He said, when Iran struck the largest U.S. base in the region, observers were astonished and thankful. He described this response as both powerful and unexpected.

He also highlighted the steadfastness of Iranian pilgrims in Saudi Arabia. He said that they followed programs with patience while praying for Muslim fighters’ triumphs.

Looking ahead to Arbaeen, Navab encouraged Iranian pilgrims to emphasize unity across the Muslim world. He advised them to detail the nature of the aggressor and his actions, stressing that through trust in God and courage, victory is assured.

The Arbaeen pilgrimage commemorates the 40th day after the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), in Karbala, Iraq. It has become the world’s largest annual peaceful gathering, a deeply spiritual journey and global movement embodying resistance, solidarity, and moral renewal.
