“Mahdism: A Trans-Religious Doctrine” is the theme of the conference, which will be addressed by seminary scholar Hojat-ol-Islam Yahya Jahangiri.
“The topic I will discuss at this conference will be the fact that Mahdism is a trans-denominational doctrine and that all believers can talk about it,” the cleric told IQNA.
“Religious sources for all believers have mentioned Mahdism. Although Shia Islam has addressed Mahdism more thoroughly and in greater detail, even specifying the birth of the Savior and providing his name and characteristics, this does not mean that other authentic faith traditions and beliefs have not spoken about Mahdism. In fact, Zoroastrianism, Judaism, and Christianity have also discussed this concept.”
He added that in the second part of his speech, he will emphasize that Islamic sects and various religions should come together and utilize each other’s capabilities, sharing their knowledge, findings, and methods for achieving a just governance.
“In the third part, it will also be stressed that the concept of Mahdism is not merely about one individual, where, for example, Sunnis might say he hasn’t been born and Shias might say he has. Rather, it is more about the principles involved. We observe that the government formed according to the belief in Mahdism and the era we will witness will be filled with justice and peace, where even animals will have their rights.”

In this section, the principles of a Mahdavi government will be explained, emphasizing that not even one animal will harm another; a wolf will not harm a sheep, he said.
“No religion will oppress another, Christians will live according to their beliefs, and there will be no compulsion to change one’s religion. Instead, everyone will discover the truth, and faith will be more important than different religious forms. The oppressed will reclaim their rights from the oppressors, and there will be no oppression, lies, or ruin in the world. Moreover, if we are good, the earth will provide us with its abundant resources, and we will witness a world full of peace.”
He concluded by saying, “It will be stated at the Antalya conference that if we can achieve justice and peace in the world, an ideal government for humanity, not just an Islamic one, will undoubtedly be established. We should all speak of Mahdavi principles because any talk of justice and peace is impossible without a heavenly figure. What is currently said about justice and peace is based on human understanding. We do not claim that this type of justice and peace is not good, but all of this should lead us to the purpose and goal inherent in Mahdavi teachings.”
