IQNA – All humans await the appearance of the Savior at the end of time but there are individuals whose interests conflict with this event, so they earnestly and secretly strive to weaken and eliminate the belief in the Savior’s appearance.

Imam Mahdi (AS) is the awaited Savior

This is according to Mujtaba al-Sada, a Shia researcher and author from Saudi Arabia, writing an article about a covert war against Imam Zaman (may God hasten his glad advent).

Following are excerpts from his article:

All humans await the emergence of the Savior at the end of times and the establishment of justice throughout the world.

The concept of waiting is linked to the depth of human thought and elevated principles and values. However, in reality, the nature of this anticipation varies among individuals and groups, depending on the values, goals, and interests they hold.

We see people who have an indescribable eagerness to behold that radiant figure (Imam Zaman) and long to live in a government of divine justice, so they strive to create conditions for the emergence of the savior of the end times. On the other hand, there are those whose interests conflict with this emergence, thus they create obstacles to delay it. They work diligently and secretly to weaken the idea of the savior's emergence and to eliminate this belief.

In the contemporary world, covert wars are a reality and involve secretive actions that are either separate or related to addressing a specific issue (such as the concept of Mahdism).

These covert wars can sometimes be ideological, cultural, or political, and occasionally take the form of indirect military conflict. In this type of war, confrontation and conflict with the opposing side do not officially begin but are carried out secretly using methods such as deception, distortion, seduction, persuasion, and more, without making the objectives explicitly clear.

The events of September 11, 2001, and the Iraq War in 2003 marked a significant shift in the covert war against the Mahdism, changing methods and strategies. The attacks on Imam Mahdi (AS) intensified compared to previous decades, and the enemies made their actions more overt. These attacks culminated in the bombing of the dome of the Al-Askari Shrine in 2006.

Certainly, all these recent covert actions against Mahdism, conducted indirectly, are orchestrated, managed by hidden forces that plan and conspire.

Anyone whose interests conflict with the principles of divine justice and who fears the divine Savior does not wish for his appearance. Likewise, anyone with principles and goals that oppose those of Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his glad advent) harbors enmity and hostility towards him.

Additionally, anyone who believes that the downfall of their regime will be at the hands of Imam Mahdi (AS) will oppose him even before his emergence.

The real reasons and motivations for waging war against Imam Mahdi (AS) are essentially a war against Islamic beliefs.

The opposition to Mahdism is an old conflict that began in the West based on ideology. However, over the years and with increasing experience, adversaries have now become certain that Mahdism is the greatest obstacle to their interests and goals, both in the West and the Middle East.

Undoubtedly, there are numerous reasons for the fear and dread of the belief in Mahdism and the person of Imam Mahdi (AS). However, the most dangerous of these motivations, which increasingly plays a significant role in the creation of covert wars, can be identified as fear of Mahdism in the future, fear of the dynamism of the Mahdist belief, and fear of the spread of Mahdist principles and values in the West.
