Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei condemned the actions of a group of extremist Zionists, led by one of the regime’s “criminal ministers,” who violated the sanctity of the mosque.
He also strongly condemned the occupying forces for preventing Palestinian worshippers from entering the holy site, describing the move as highly provocative and a clear violation of the rights of Palestinians.
Referring to the continuation of crimes committed by the Israeli regime in the occupied Palestinian territories, as well as its unlawful attacks against Lebanon and other countries in the region, the spokesperson emphasized the legal and moral responsibility of all countries to confront this trend and to hold and punish those responsible for such crimes.
Highlighting the prominent status of Al-Aqsa Mosque as the first qibla of Muslims among the Islamic Ummah and the Palestinian people, Baghaei stated that the desecration is in line with the regime’s policy to alter the Islamic and historical identity of al-Quds and to provoke the sentiments of Muslims around the world.
