Yemeni Family Owns Rare Quran Manuscript

A Yemeni family owns the second smallest Quran manuscript in the world.

The rare copy, which measures only 3 centimeters in length, dates back to a century ago, Alapn website reported.
A magnifier accompanies the 531-page manuscript to help one read the tiny words on the pages of the small copy.
Manuscript experts, including Ahmed Al-Muhaqefi, believe that the small Quran copy is a unique historical treasure and a precious Islamic heritage item.
Calligraphed by Egyptian Quran reciter Sheikh Muhammad bin Khalad Al-Husseini, the copy was possessed by the then Ottoman governor of Yemen until 1920.
It was then gifted to Haj Ali Al-Nahdi and has been kept by his descendants ever since.
