IQNA – Mourning rituals were held in the holy city of Samarra, Iraq, Thursday night, on the eve of the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hassan Askari (AS).

The Al-Askari Shrine in the city of Samarra witnessed the presence of a large crowd of pilgrims last night, coinciding with the eve of the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hassan Askari (AS), Al-Kafeel website reported.
Moukebs and service delegations were set up on the routes leading to the holy shrine to provide services to pilgrims who intended to commemorate this sad occasion.
The Astan (custodianship) of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine mobilized a number of its servants and employees to participate in serving the pilgrims and meeting their needs.
Comprehensive security and service plan in Samarra
Meanwhile, the Astan of Askari Shrine announced the start of the implementation of a comprehensive security and service plan specifically for the pilgrimage and emphasized the coordination of efforts with relevant institutions to ensure the security of the pilgrims' movement and provide them with the services they need.
Sayed Ali al-Zamili, head of the Committee for Million-Strong Pilgrimages at the Astan, announced in a statement that all departments of the shrine and supporting institutions are on full alert to welcome the millions of pilgrims who will enter the city of Samarra to commemorate this occasion.

Al-Zamili added that this plan is being implemented in direct field coordination with security, health, and service departments, with the aim of strengthening the organization and smoothing the movement of pilgrims and providing the best services during the pilgrimage.
