Iran's Culture Ministry to Strengthen Grassroots Quranic Institutes

Quran and Etrat Deputy of Iran's Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance said the deputy has plans to support grassroots Quranic activities.

Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Reza Heshmati told IQNA that organizing Quranic weeks in the country's provinces, pursuing the national Quran recitation plan, and launching the national Quranic portal are among other programs of the Quran and Etrat Deputy.
He added that all necessary preparations for the portal have been made and it will be launched by the end of the current (Iranian) year (March 2015).
Elsewhere in his remarks, Hojat-ol-Islam Heshmati referred to the objective of training 10 million Quran memorizers in the country and said different organizations have been working to realize the objective but more needs to be done. 
A few years ago, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei called for training millions of Quran memorizers in the country and since then various organizations and institutions have strived to promote memorization of the Quran in society, especially among the youth and teenagers.
