Literary group: Commemorating the 800th birth anniversary of Molana, a gathering, hosting a number of men of opinion and letters, was held in the Cultural House of Iran in France, on Shahrivar 25 (September 16).
Iqna reported Dr Ahmad Jalali, permanent ambassador of Iran in the UN and the Unesco, elaborated on the ideas of this paramount literary figure.

Jalali stated that after the passage of eight centuries, still the professions and philosophy of Molana seem applicable and plausible and added: There are two kinds of knowledge, acquisitive and present. If acquisitive knowledge does not change into the present form in our character and soul, it is but a nuisance.

Afterward he recited some of Molana's poems and said: The reason behind Molana's popularity in the Occidental youth is their being overwhelmed with acquisitive knowledge and lack of the present one. As long as humans move on the wrong path, the thirst for intellectuality will not be satiated.

Dr Jalali further said: We must utilize the intellectual treasure of ancient Persian literature and find a way out of the present materialistic predicament, which has entrapped human. At a time when terms like tensions among civilizations or cultural clashes are heard around the corners of the world, the ideas of Molana, from an Islamic angle, can lead us back to the path of peace and intellect.

It is worth noting that the first commemorating congregation of Molana will be held under the auspices of Iran's representative in the main hall of Unesco in Paris, on Mehr 8 (September 30).
Moreover, it has been planned to hold a bi-weekly gathering in France for two years, in order to shed light on the precious precepts of Molana.
