Intensive Summer Course on Quran Memorization Starts in Al-Aqsa Mosque
--A 50-day summer course on Quran memorization started Saturday in Al-Aqsa mosque under the supervision of Al-Furqan Quranic Institute of Palestine.
According to Palestine News Network (PNN), the course is attended by 50 students from all over Palestine.
Khaled Aldada, director of Al-Furqan Quran Memorization Institute, said that the students deemed qualified for attending the course have already memorized about 10 Juz (parts) of the Quran.
They will attend 10 hours of classes a day to memorize all verses of the Quran.
He said that the students will pay a daily visit to the historical Islamic buildings of Al-Aqsa mosque. “Saying their prayers and worshiping in Al-Aqsa mosque during the Quranic course, the students will learn more about Islamic heritage in the third Islamic holy site in the world.”
Mr. Aldada added that a ceremony will be held on July 3 to honor 70 Palestinian men and women who succeeded in memorizing the whole Quran through attending the courses last year.
