-- Saudi Arabia’s city of Al-Kharj will host a Quran competition for youth in mid-February.
According to Al-Iqtisayia daily, the competition aims to promote memorization, recitation and reflection of Quranic verses among the youth.
Titled “Itqan”, the competition is slated to be held in the categories of Quran interpretation and memorization from February 14-17.
It is organized by the cemntral branch of the city’s Holy Quran Education Center.
Muhammad bin Ahmed Al-Khunain, director of the center said the participants will compete in memorization of the three last Juzes (parts) of the Quran as well as interpretation of the last Juz.
He added that the Sa’ad bin Ma’az Quranic School will host the men’s section of the contest while women’s competition will be held at the Al-Fazilah Quranic School.
