Quran Activists’ Behavior Could Promote Quranic Culture: Memorizer
Fatemeh Nikoukar, who is a memorizer of the entire Holy Quran, has taken part in the provincial stage of Iran’s 48th National Quran Competition in Qom Province.
She told IQNA that the presence of memorizers and reciters in Quranic gatherings motivates those around them and their friends to become familiar with the Quran.
This indicates that the actions and behavior of Quran activists could promote the Quranic culture and spread the Quranic message in society, she added.
Referring to her Quranic journey, Nikoukar said that her Quranic activities began in childhood.
“As a child, I memorized small Surahs with the help and companionship of my mother, but the serious and purposeful beginning of memorizing the Quran began when I was a student, that is, in 2018. I am grateful to God that, along with academic and social activities, I was able to memorize the Quran.”
She noted that it took her four years to learn the entire Quran by heart, stressing that this success was a blessing that flowed into her life.
As for her participation in Quranic competitions, she said, “Participating in competitions started when I had memorized the 30th Juz. I always take part in competitions to test myself, and the result of this participation is several ranks and positions at the provincial and national levels.”

Nikoukar further considered familiarity with the Quran a necessity of today’s life and emphasized, “In a world full of religious and belief doubts, memorizing the Quran helps us to have solid and firm answers and to be able to respond in discussions and conversations by relying on Quranic verses. This helps to avoid duality and increases self-confidence in the face of religious and belief doubts.”
She considered the effects of memorizing the Quran to be very tangible in her life and said, “My pregnancy and child-rearing period were accompanied by memorizing the Holy Quran, and the effects of the coinciding of these two auspicious and blessed issues have caused my child to become interested in the Quranic atmosphere and memorizing the Holy Quran.”
