Director general of the Environment Department in Yazd province said over 800 verses of the Quran are about nature.
Hamid Jalalvand said elaborating on these verses and introducing them can be helpful in preventing harms to nature.
Speaking at a press conference on the occasion of environment week, he added that religious experts believe these verses can be a source for inferring religious laws about the environment.
Mr. Jalalvand also stressed the need for spreading religious teachings about nature.
“One of the programs of our department for the environment week was to promote religious teachings about nature with the help of the province’s prayer leaders.”
Elsewhere in his remarks, director general of Yazd Environment Department called for more funds for educating the public about environmental issues.
