Pig Heads Left on Muslim Graves After Bondi Beach Mass Shooting

The incident occurred at Narellan Cemetery in Camden, where pig heads were found on graves, Daily Mail reported on Monday.

The development came in the aftermath of the deadly shooting at Bondi Beach that left multiple people dead and injured.

Prominent Muslim undertaker Ahmad Hraichie condemned the cemetery incident and described it as hateful and pointless. He said, “To whoever did this: you have proven nothing except hatred. You are not a solution to any problem - you are part of the problem.”

He added that: “Graves are places of rest, dignity, and respect - across all faiths and all humanity.”

The cemetery incident followed the Bondi Beach attack, in which two men allegedly opened fire from a pedestrian footbridge using military-style weapons. Police said 16 people have died, including one of the alleged attackers, while dozens of others were taken to hospital.

Victims ranged in age from children to elderly adults. One suspect remains hospitalized under police guard.

In response to the attack, Muslim leaders in Sydney said they would not conduct funeral rites for the alleged perpetrators or accept their burial within Muslim cemeteries.

Sheikh Adam Ismail, who previously taught one of the alleged attackers, also condemned the shooting. He said, “I am devastated by the images of the victims in Bondi.”

He added that his family had faced threats following the attack and required police assistance.

The Australian National Imams Council also issued a statement condemning the violence. It said, “Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, and all those who witnessed or were affected by this deeply traumatic attack.”
