Leader of the Hezbollah Resistance Movement said the movement’s culture is based on the Husseini slogan of ‘Hayhat Mina Zilla’ (we reject humiliation).
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah was speaking Thursday night, February 16, in commemoration of the martyrs of the resistance movement including Martyr Sayyed Abbas Mousawi.
“Never had I recognized the event of Ashoura and the status of Imam Hussein (AS) like I did during the 33-day war with the Zionist regime,” Nasrallah said. “At the time, Hezbollah, like Imam Hussein (AS), had but two choices: to surrender or martyrdom.”
He added that some Lebanese factions would say Israel seeks to eliminate Hezbollah and will not end the war until achieving its objectives. “They thought Hezbollah must surrender to Israel or it will be destroyed. But I tell all those who think like this that our wisdom and culture are based on the Husseini slogan of ‘Hayhat Mina Zilla’ (we reject humiliation).”
Nasrallah stressed that “we will continue on our path steadfastly and with firm belief in our principles and will vigilantly confront the seditions ahead.”
Elsewhere in his remarks, Nasrallah dismissed any involvement of Hezbollah in anti-Israeli blasts in India, Thailand and Georgia, saying Hezbollah will take revenge on the Zionists for killing Emad Mughniyeh not by killing average diplomats but senior Zionist officials.
On Syria, he criticized Arab leaders’ positions on Bashar Al-Assad and urged them to be careful about the reasons behind the West’s insistence on toppling Assad government.
He said Assad’s government has not given in to pressures from America and the Zionist regime and will not betray the resistance movement.
Secretary general of Hezbollah also pointed to the weakness of the Zionist regime and said the regime’s defeat in the Gaza and Lebanon wars clearly proved that it is not invincible.
