Int’l Khatm Quran Day to Be Observed on Aug 30
Khatm Quran means reading the entire Quran (from the beginning to the end) in one session.
According to the news website daralmaref.com, tens of thousands of people from inside and outside Egypt will take part in this Al-Azhar initiative.
Its implementation will be supervised by Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Sheikh of Al-Azhar, and will involve institutions and organizations from inside and outside the Arab country.
Private Quran memorization training offices under the supervision of Al-Azhar, the World Organization of Al-Azhar Alumni, the Islamic Research Council, Al-Azhar University, and some other Islamic institutions and centers around the world are among the institutions participating in this plan.
Also, institutions affiliated with the Al-Azhar Islamic Center in a number of countries around the world, including Indonesia, Nigeria, Uganda, Somalia, Iraq, South Africa, Chad, Niger, and Tanzania, have expressed their readiness to contribute to the initiative.
