Eminent Egyptian Reciter Guest of Honor at Iran’s Nat’l Quran Contest

Prominent Egyptian reciter Mahmoud Shahhat Anwar will come to Iran to attend the 35th National Quran Competition as a guest of honor.
The Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization has invited the Egyptian reciter to Iran to recite the Quran during the competition.
Sheikh Mahmoud Shahhat Anwar is a son of late Master Shahhat Anwar. He managed to learn the entire Holy Quran by heart at the age of 12 and came first in the Laylat-ul-Qadr International Quran Contest in Egypt the same year.
Iran’s 35th National Competition on Quran Recitation and Memorization is slated to be held concurrent with the Ten-day Fajr (dawn) Celebrations (early February) in the northern city of Sari.
200 male and 200 female Quran reciters and memorizers will take part in the national Quranic event.
