Pakistanis Urged to Follow Teachings of Holy Quran

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Khursheed Shah on Tuesday urged the nation to fight out the menaces of extremism and terrorism through following the teachings of the Holy Quran.
Addressing at the Inter-Colleges competitions of Qirat and Naat at Islamabad Model College for Girls, he said the nation can better cope with the conflicts by adopting the principles of tolerance and patience.
He congratulated the winners of the competition and announced the cash prizes worth Rs. 10,000 for each participant of the competitions.
The federal minister said the whole nation was suffering from extremism, terrorism, hatred and prejudices and can only get rid from such menaces through acting upon the teachings of Allah and Prophet (PBUH) in letter and spirit.
He said, “Islam teaches to adopt the human values of tolerance and patience which help avoid the hatred and prejudices”.
The chief guest distributed shields and certificates among the winning students of flower arrangement, Naat and Qirat competitions.
A number of students, teachers and officials were present on the occasion.
