Islamic Teachings Have Direct Effect on Health of Society & Individual

Secretary General of the World Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) Forum said following the teachings and injunctions of Islam is effective in making the society and individuals healthier.

Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Hassan Akhtari made the remark in an interview with IQNA, adding that if one follows religious teachings in his lifestyle, how he behaves, eats, drinks and acts at home, he will certainly become healthier.
He noted that while acts of worship are carried out because they are obligatory, they are also effective ways of improving personal and social health.
Hojat-ol-Islam Akhtari pointed to the introduction of Halal foods in non-Muslim countries like the US and China, saying that they have concluded that Halal foods, which are prepared accruing to Islamic teachings and injunctions, are healthy while non-Halal foods are harmful.
He quoted a Hadith from imam Reza (AS) who said “We look at Harams and Halals and witnessed that whatever God made Halal permitted) is beneficial and whatever God made Haram (forbidden) is harmful.
Hojat-ol-Islam Akhtari referred to saying prayer as being a factor that improves one’s health.
“We do not say prayers for health but nonetheless this form of relation with God improves our health,” he underlined.
