Tawakkul, which means putting one’s trust in God, has positive effects in social and individual dimensions of life, a university scholar said.
Nasser Mohammadi also told IQNA that Tawakkul strengthens man in the face of problems and difficulties in life.
He said the more one’s faith in God’s Hikma and Rahma (wisdom and compassion), the more his fortitude and his Tawakkul.
Mr. Mohammadi pointed to verse 45 of Surah Baqara “And seek help in patience and As-Salat (the prayer) and truly it is extremely heavy and hard except for Al-Khashi'un [i.e. the true believers in Allah - those who obey Allah with full submission, fear much from His Punishment, and believe in His Promise (Paradise, etc.) and in His Warnings (Hell, etc.)]”, and said Tawakkul and patience are not only helpful in ethical dimensions but also in terms of improving health.
He went on to say that Tawakkul brings positive effects into the individual and social aspects of people’s individual and social lives and keeps away bad attributes such as greed, envy and stinginess.
