Supreme Leader’s representative in Najaf Seminary condemned the desecration of Hujar Ibn Adi’s grave near Damascus and urged Muslim youths to protect sacred sites in the Levant.
In a statement, Ayatollah Sheikh Muhammad-Mahdi Assefi said Al-Qaeda has committed yet another crime in Syria by demolishing the grave of the Sahabi (companion) of the Holy prophet (PBUH).
He condemned the crime against Islamic sanctities and called on all Muslims, especially scholars and the media, to denounce it.
Ayatollah Assefi reiterated that the Muslim youth should stand up against such moves and protect the holy shrines of Divine figures in the Levant against the crimes of Al-Qaeda.
Wahhabi extremists on Thursday desecrated the grave of Hujr ibn Adi. The militants attacked the mausoleum and exhumed the grave of Hujr ibn Adi in the Damascus suburb of Adra, and took his remains to an unknown location.
