Sunnis Revere Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS): Jordanian Minister
Jordanian Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs said that Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) are revered by Sunnis as well as Shi’ites.
Muhammad Nuh Qudah made the remark in response to criticisms made against him for visiting the holy shrine of Imam Mousa Kazem (AS) during his visit to Iraq, Noon website reported.
He said the visit was in line with Sharia principles and that those criticizing it should recognize that Sunnis, just like Shi’ites hold Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) in high respect.
Muhammad Nuh Qudah noted that he made the trip to Iraq on a formal invitation from Iraq’s president with the aim of attending the international conference on “Dialogue and Proximity”.
He said during his trip, he visited the Shia and Sunni Awqaf departments of Iraq, the Abu Hanifa Mosque as well as the shrines of Imam Mousa Kazem (AS) and Imam Javad (AS).
The Jordanian minister went on to say that he also met with Iraq’s Shia source of emulation Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Al-Sistani.
He underlined that Muslims should follow the path of great figures like Imam Kazem (AS) in order to avoid discord and disunity.
