“Amir-ul-Mu’menin (AS); Successor of Prophethood” Festival in India

The first edition of a cultural festival titled “Amir-ul-Mu’menin (AS); Successor of Prophethood and Amir of Ummah” will be held from May 23 to 27 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh State of India.

According to Buratha news agency, the festival has been planned by the custodianship of Hazrat Abbas’s (AS) Holy Shrine to be organized on the occasion of birth anniversary of Imam Ali (AS) on the 13th of the month of Rajab (May 24).
Introduction of Ahl-ul-Bait’s (AS) thoughts and application of their teachings in order to get the two Shia and Sunni schools of thought more united are the main objectives of the program.
The organizers also plan to present and distribute the publications of the holy sites of Iraq and to display the recent achievements of the intellectual and engineering institutes affiliated to the holy places on the sidelines of the festival.
The Holy Shrine’s Section for Intellectual and Cultural Affairs, as the organizer of the festival, has translated a number of books on the common issues in jurisprudential field between Shia and Sunni Muslims as well as stories for children into Urdu language.
The books and photos of the holy sites in Iraq will be put on display at an exhibition planned to be held during the festival.
A new page of Al-Kafeel website in Urdu language will also be launched on the auspicious occasion by the section at the opening ceremony of the festival.
