People in 60 countries around the globe participated in similar rallies and marches to express their support for Jerusalem and its steadfast people and to condemn the aggression of the occupation on the holy city and its people.
Participants in the London rally comprised activists from all backgrounds in terms of ethnicity and religious affiliation. There were Muslims, Christians and Jews united in their love for Jerusalem and their condemnation of the Israeli aggressive measures against the holy city and its indigenous population.
Speaker after speaker condemned the ethnic cleansing the holy city is being subjected to and the desecration of holy places by the occupation soldiers and the settlers.
They condemned the systematic demolition of Palestinian homes to make way for more settlements and biblical parks.
They condemned the occupation’s campaigns of arresting and interrogating Palestinian children without the presence of their parents or a lawyer.
Their message to the Israeli occupation was that people around the world will not remain silent towards occupation’s crimes against Jerusalem and its people. They will not remain silent towards the ethnic cleansing of the Holy City, even if their governments remained silent.
The speakers called for more effective rallying of MPs to pressure the government to take positive steps against the Israeli apartheid rather than just pay lip service to the issue.
They called on the public to actively participate in the boycott of Israeli products of the illegal settlements, and to keep the momentum of their support for Jerusalem and the Palestinians.
