Mahdism, Secret of Shi’ism’s Life & Identity

Secretary of the International Conference on Mahdism Doctrine described Mahdism as the secret of Shi’ism’s life and identity.

Addressing Friday prayer worshippers at the University of Tehran’s Campus before the main sermons, Hojat-ol-Islam Pourseyyedaghayi added that the teachings of Mahdism should be promoted through arts.
“If we fail to mention these topics in a revolutionary and correct way, the deviated currents will certainly take charge of this issue,” he stated.
He underlined that Iran’s Islamic establishment is one that paves the way for the reappearance of Imam Zaman (may God hasten his glad advent).
Hojat-ol-Islam Pourseyyedaghayi said setting the ground for the reappearance of the Savior means that the Imam must be the center of activities in our life. “It means that our objectives must be those of the Imam’s…. Shia Islam is alive because of this sublime ideal.”
He further said the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran should do its best to solve the problems using the teachings of Mahdism doctrine.
The cleric noted that there are thousands of Hadiths in this area that can serve as “the most important political guideline for us”.
He reiterated that “If we fail to mention these topics in a revolutionary and correct way, the deviated currents will certainly take charge of this issue.”
His speech was delivered on the eve of mid-Sha’aban which marks Imam Mahdi’s (AS) birth anniversary. This year, the auspicious occasion falls on Monday, June 24.
