Egypt Supports Establishment of Quran Radio in Kyrgyzstan

Egypt’s minister of information said his ministry will support the plan for setting up a Quran radio in Kyrgyzstan.
In a meeting with Kyrgyzstan’s Mufti and the Central Asian country’s vice-speaker of the parliament, Salah Abdul-Maqsud said Egypt will cooperate in establishing the radio, Akhbar-al-Yawm website reported.
“We will cooperate in setting up a Quran and religious sciences radio in the Republci of Kyrgyzstan,” Abdul-Maqsud stressed.
They also discussed cooperation between in different fields including technology, education and the media.
The vast majority of people in Kyrgyzstan are Muslims, as around 86 percent of the country's population are followers of Islam.
