Punjab Halal Development Agency (PHDA) Chairman Khalil ur Rehman Khan said this during his meeting with Federal Minister for Science and Technology Zahid Hamid.
Both discussed issues related with halal food products.
The minister said there is strong need of developing standards and enacting a law to make our halal products.
He added, “We need halal professionals because globalisation of food trade and increased consumer awareness regarding food safety standards contribute towards new demands for halal, healthy and hygienic food.”
The PHDA chairman said Pakistan possesses all imperative elements for halal products’ production but are lacking professionals in this field.
Both agreed to organise inter-ministerial meeting and take steps to foster halal industry of Pakistan.
