9th Quranic Festival of University of Applied Science to kick off Thursday
The 9th edition of the University of Applied Science and Technology’s Quranic festival will start on Thursday, September 5.
The central city of Yazd will host the national Quranic event, which includes a competition in different Quranic categories.
300 contestants from among the students, instructors and personnel of the university will attend the competition.
The categories, which are divided into two sections, written and oral, include Quran recitation, memorization, Quranic concepts, story writing, poetry writing, Quranic papers, Quranic research, books, calligraphy, painting and Tazhib (illumination).
A jury panel has been formed for the competition with the participation of prominent Quranic figures of the country including Qarasheikhlu, Khaleghi, Aghayi, Khaki and Raziei.
Winners of the contest will make it to the National Quran and Etrat Competition of University Students, slated to be held in November at the Islamic Azad University.
