Quran in Tamazight to Be Reprinted in Algeria’s Cultural Festival

TEHRAN (IQNA) - A translation of the Holy Quran into Amazighi (Tamazight or Berber) language will be reprinted on the occasion of a cultural festival titled “Constantine; the Cultural Capital of the Arab World in 2015” in Algeria.


According to alapn.com, the Quran copies will be published and distributed during different programs of the festival.





Sheikh Muhammad Al-Tayyeb, translator of the Holy Quran into Tamazight said that the rendering was completed in five years (from 2000 to 2005) and first published in 2010 in Saudi Arabia.





Al-Tayyeb was born in 1934 in Tizi Ouzou Province of Algeria and raised in a religious family.



He is a memorizer of the entire Holy Quran.



Constantine is the capital of Constantine Province in north-eastern Algeria.



 The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) has selected the city as the cultural capital of the Arab world in 2015.
