IQNA – Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, accompanied by a delegation, visited the holy Shrine of Imam Kadhim (AS) and Imam Jawad (AS) in Kadhimiya, north of Baghdad, on Monday.

During this visit, Haider Abdul Amir Mahdi, the custodian of the shrines, welcomed the delegation.

According to a statement from the Astan (custodianship) of the Kadhimiya shrines, the status of the holy site and its religious and humanitarian role were reviewed in this meeting.

Also, ways to strengthen joint cooperation in cultural and religious fields in order to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and communication between the people of Iraq and Pakistan were discussed.
