According to Muhammad Harouj, the prayers leader of Al-Tijani Mosque, which is hosting the event, it is aimed at raising people’s awareness about Islam’s opposition to violence.
He said the speakers at the two-day conference focused on topics like moderate religious discourse, role of media in raising awareness and development of the culture of peace.
Other issues discussed at the gathering included ‘Quran and peace’, ‘peace and coexistence in Islam’, and ‘outcomes of violence in society’.
It was organized by Tijaniya Office in Ain Madhi region of the country, radioalgerie website reported.
