Quran Competition for Women Planned in Iraq

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The first edition of “Al-Ghadir” national Quran memorization and recitation competition for women has been planned in Iraq.


According to the website of the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Ali’s (AS) holy shrine, the competition will be organized from October 9 to 11 by the Women’s Quranic Affairs Section of the Astan).





Al-Husnawi, the head of the head of the section, said that “Wa fi dhalika Falyatanafas al-mutanafisun” (So for this let the competitors compete, 83:26) is the motto of the first edition of the national Quranic event.



It will be held at the Sayyed Al-Awsiya Hall of the holy shrine.





The participants will compete in memorization and recitation of 5, 10, 20 and 30 Juzes (parts) of the Quran, he added.





The director said that the three-day competition will be held from 9 to 12 a.m. local time and three top participants will be awarded and granted certificates.
