
This was announced by the University’s Vice Chancellor Shahid Siddiqui while addressing the concluding session of two-day International Seerat Conference that was arranged on the occasion of Eid-Mild-un-Nabi.
Chairman Higher
Education Commission (HEC) Mukhtar Ahmed was the chief guest on the
occasion, who underlined the important role of educational institutions,
teachers and imams sensitizing and motivating the young generation to follow
the righteous path, as enshrined in the Quran and Sunnah.
Under the plan, Shahid Siddiqui said, students of MA, M.Phil and PhD will be given an option to
do specialized study on Seerat.
International Seerat conference will be an
annual feature. A special conference will also be arranged to focus on Hadiths and their importance. Besides this, an annual award will be given on best
Seerat book and a special journal on Islamic Studies will be published soon.
