TEHRAN (IQNA) – A spokesman for Iraq’s Nujaba movement slammed Saudi-owned MBC TV channel for airing insulting remarks about Martyr Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.

Nasr al-Shammari in statement called on the Iraqi government and top clerics to react to the insulting move.

He added that such moves are aimed at deflecting attention from the Saudi regime’s crimes.

In a recent program on the Saud TV network, martyr Muhandis was called a terrorist.

It has drawn widespread anger and criticism in the region, especially in Iraq.

Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the then deputy commander of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), then commander of IRGC Quds Force Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, and their companions were killed in a strike by American drones near Baghdad International Airport in the early hours of January 3.
