The competition was organized virtually in two stages.
Winning the first round, Bjiani made it to the finals and was announced as the top winner by the organizing committee on Monday.
The top Qari, who bagged the top prize in Iran’s National Quran Competition in 2019, had also been named to represent the country in Malaysia’s international Quran contest in 2020 but the event was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Born in 1994 in Razavi Khorasan Province, northeast Iran, Bijani is a MA student in Quran and Hadith Sciences. He is also a student of Islamic Seminary in Mashhad.
