TEHRAN (IQNA) – The United States has asked for talks with Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement about the Arab country’s developments, a report said.

According to the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar’s report, Washington has sent a message to Hezbollah leadership via mediators, asking for consultations with the resistance movement.

The report said Hezbollah has informed the mediators that it will have no contacts with the US.

Earlier, a Lebanese journalist quoted Sayyed Hashem Safieddine, the head of Hezbollah’s Executive Council, as saying that the Americans have tried and hoped to have contacts with the movement’s leadership.

In a message sent via mediators, the Americans voiced willingness for negotiations on all issues, but the request was rejected by Hezbollah, Safieddine was quoted as saying.
