Iran’s Culture Minister Names New Quran, Etrat Deputy

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Ali Reza Moaf was named the Iranian Culture and Islamic Guidance Ministry’s Quran and Etrat Deputy.

Culture Minister Mohammad Mehdi Esmaeili in a decree on Saturday appointed Moaf as the new deputy for Quran and Etrat.

In the decree, Esmaeili highlighted Moaf’s experience in Quranic and scholarly fields and his constructive interaction with the country’s Quranic community.

He urged Moaf to pave the way for pursuing the guidelines set by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei in Quranic fields, work out the country’s general Quranic policies in coordination with related bodies, and plan for and supervise public Quranic education.

Esmaeili also called on the new Quran and Etrat Deputy to plan for organizing national Quran competitions and exhibitions, support centers and institutes active in production of Quranic works, develop contacts with Quran activists and help promotion of Quranic and religious arts.

He further stressed the need for special attention to promotion of the culture and teachings of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS).

Moaf replaces Abdol Hadi Feqhizadeh who was the Quran and Etrat Deputy of the Culture Ministry over the past four years.
