Isfahan Hosting Quran Contest for Visually-Impaired

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The second stage of a Quran competition for the visually-impaired kicked off in the central city of Isfahan on Saturday.

Visually-impaired Quran memorizers and reciters from all over Iran are taking part in the competition, dubbed Basa’er (the insightful).

It has been organized by the Roshandelan Cultural-Quranic Foundation.

Seyed Morteza Nikzad, the foundation’s managing director, said the final stage of the contest will be held next week and winners will be announced on March 1, which is correspondent to the 27th day of the lunar Hijri month of Rajab that marks the Eid al-Maba’ath (the anniversary of the day Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was chosen as God’s messenger).

He said 300 individuals from all over the country are competing in the Quranic event.

Nikzad added that the categories of the contest include Quran recitation for men, Tarteel recitation for women, and Quran memorization at seven levels.
