TEHRAN (IQNA) – Prominent Egyptian qari Muhammad Abdul Aziz Hassan had a unique mastery over recitation skills and his voice in a way that some experts say listeners feel that the Quran has been revealed to them while listening to Hassan’s recitations.

One can clearly spot the brilliance of Hassan when listening to his recitations. His works have a high rank both in the technical and emotional realms.

Hassan is equipped with all the criteria for a rich recitation. This means that his works are artistic while also giving listeners a rich emotional experience.

One of the main points about his recitations is that he has a somewhat different style compared to other qaris. No other recitation is similar to those performed by Hassan.

Some experts say the works of Master Abdulfattah Sha'shaei are close to Hassan’s style.

Hassan’s recitation is so technical that expert qaris may consider it impossible to have more complete work than him.

One of the reasons behind his perfect works is that he had full mastery over music and Lahn (rhythm). Understanding music is very important for a qari as it enables a master like Hassan to continue Quran recitation for some two hours while preserving the quality of the recitation.

Imitating his recitations is a difficult task but it is not impossible to do so. Hassan had a plan for every word that he recited. So, another feature of his work is his attention to detail.

On the other hand, the great Egyptian qari had full mastery over Waqf and Ibtida (pause and restart). Even a Ph.D. thesis has been written on the basis of Hassan’s Waqf and Ibtida by a Saudi student.

What follows is recitation of a number of verses from Surah Al-Ghafir by Muhammad Abdul Aziz Hassan
