TEHRAN (IQNA) – Every Muslim motivates himself and others to say prayers, uttering the word “Hayya” (hasten) 70 times every day and there is not this much call and invitation to any other act of worship.

Saying prayers

This is according to Hojat-ol-Islam Mohsen Qaraati in the book “114 Points about Salah”. Following are excerpts of the researcher’s viewpoints about Salah.

Salah is an obligatory act of worship which should be performed 5 times a day and before every Salah Muslims are advised to say Adhan (call to prayer) and Iqama (call to begin praying).

The two Divine calls to prayer include 20 times “Hayya ala al-Salah” (hasten to prayer), 20 times “Hayya ala al-Falah” (hasten to the salvation), 20 times “Hayya ala Khayr al-Amal” (hasten to the best of deeds) and 10 times “Qad Qamatis Salah” (Prayer is to be performed).

Given that the terms “Falah” (salvation) and (khayr al-amal) “the best of deeds” in Adhan refer to prayer, every Muslim motivates himself and others to perform Salah saying “Hayya” 70 times every day. And there is not this much call and invitation to any other act of worship except.

Moreover, Muslims have been advised to say Adhan loudly and eloquently.

Adhan is breaking the silence, a course of ideology with noble Islamic thoughts.

Adhan is a religious singing with short and meaningful sentences.

Adhan is a warning to the negligent, and it is a sign of open religious atmosphere and spiritual life.
