Qari from Qom to Represent Iran in Russia’s Int’l Quran Contest

IQNA – Es’haq Abdollahi, a distinguished reciter from Qom province, will represent the Islamic Republic of Iran in the 23rd edition of Russia’s international Quran competition.

Iranian qari Es’haq Abdollahi (Center) will represent the Islamic Republic of Iran in the 23rd edition of Russia’s international Quran competition.

 

The international Quranic event will be held in Moscow this fall.

Abdollahi, a distinguished reciter from Qom province and the reciter and muezzin of the holy shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh (SA) and Jamkaran Mosque, has been selected to participate in this global competition as Iran’s representative by the Committee for Inviting and Dispatching Reciters.

Last year, he won the fifth place in the recitation category of the men’s section in Iran’s 47th National Quran Competition.

Abdollahi is a Quran teacher and has won first place in the Basij and Red Crescent Quran competitions.

The young qari, as a representative of the holy shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh (SA), also won fourth place in the recitation category in the third edition of the Karbala International Quran Memorization and Recitation Competition.

Russia’s Quran contest, known as the Moscow Quran reciting competition, has been held annually since 2000. Since year 2007 the competition became international.

Last year, in the 22nd edition, Quran memorizer Mohammad Rasool Takbiri was present as a representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran but failed to win a rank.

In this year's event, Iran is only sending a representative in the category of Quran recitation.
