“The Israeli regime's attack on Iran in the early hours of Saturday was disappointing, limited, and weak for the Zionists,” Ahmed Abdulrahman wrote in an article published on felesteen.news website on Saturday.
The strikes targeted parts of military sites in the capital Tehran as well as the western and southwestern provinces of Ilam and Khuzestan, with Iran’s air defense saying the attacks were “successfully intercepted and countered.”
The attacks caused “limited damage” in some locations, and the dimensions of the incident are under investigation, the Iranian military said.
“The Israeli regime is facing a major crisis in its wars with Gaza and Lebanon, having failed to secure victory in either front or achieve any significant military gains,” said the expert, adding, “The occupying army has suffered heavy losses over the past week on the northern Gaza and Lebanon fronts.”
“It appears that with this attack, the regime has sought to avoid a major escalation with Iran, as it cannot engage with a powerful and geographically expansive country like Iran,” he said, noting, “Given its limited, occupied territory, Israel cannot sustain a large-scale war.”

He noted that the “symbolic” Israeli response to Iran came to “restore the image of its prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and his hardline coalition, as well as war minister Yoav Gallant, who recently threatened to target key Iranian figures and strategic assets.”
In recent months, the Israeli regime’s primary aim has been to draw the United States into regional conflicts, especially against Iran, as it cannot bear the cost of a war with Iran alone, he said. “However, the U.S. seeks to avoid harm to its interests in the region and is working to prevent the conflict from escalating further.”
