Akbar Rezaei, the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization’s deputy for Hajj and Umrah Affairs announced the start of the pilgrimage, saying that in this phase, pilgrims will be dispatched to the holy land during the lunar Hijri months of Rajab and Shaaban.
The dispatch of pilgrims will continue until the 24th of Shaaban (February 23, 2025), he stated.
Noting that the Umrah dispatches for the months of Rajab and Shaaban have been met with a warm reception from applicants, he said that there are four flights daily, and one day a week there are six flights from the country.
Two of these flights operate from the Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran, while the remaining flights are from other airports and departure stations, he said, adding that in total, 16 departure stations facilitate the journey of Umrah pilgrims to the holy land.
He said planning is underway by the related bodies for the third phase of dispatching Umrah pilgrims in the months of Ramadan and Shawwal.
The Umrah trips last for ten days, with pilgrims staying five days in Mecca and five days in Medina before returning to Iran, he went on to say.
