More than 150,000 male and female participants from different governorates of Egypt are present in this stage of the contest, which is known as the “Sheikh Al-Azhar Competitions”.
The Quranic event is being held with the support of Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the imam of Al-Azhar, and under the supervision of Al-Azhar Deputy Mohamed Abdel Rahman al-Duwayni, and Sheikh Ayman Abdel Ghani, head of the Department of Quranic Institutions.
It has been organized as part of the Islamic center’s efforts to support the memorizers of the Book of God and cultivate Quranic talents at different age levels.
The first stage of the competition has begun in seven governorates: Marsa Matruh, Suez, Port Said, Ismailia, North Sinai, South Sinai and the Red Sea, with the widespread presence of participants and their parents, and with carefully planned measures that ensure transparency and equal opportunities for all contestants.
Al-Duwayni and Abdel Ghani visited the examination committees of the competition in the Suez Governorate to ensure that the implementation was regular and the judging was correct according to the standards approved by Al-Azhar.
